Leadership philosophy
I believe good leadership means being accountable for outcomes while creating the conditions for others to do their best work. That includes setting clear direction, fostering trust, staying close to the craft, and building systems that help teams scale without losing their soul. I lead through clarity, curiosity, and care. I try to bring just enough structure to support focus without slowing us down.
Clarity through complexity
I guide designers through ambiguity by setting clear direction, fostering autonomy, and coaching through tradeoffs. I partner with product, engineering, and research to shape strategy, navigate disagreements, and move work forward. The goal: teams that deliver with focus, even when things are messy.
Trust through transparency
Design should serve people by being helpful, understandable, and trustworthy. I build systems and teams grounded in ethics, accessibility, and user-centered principles. This matters most in AI interfaces, where design directly shapes whether users understand what's happening and why they should believe it.
Craft through presence
The best leaders stay close to the craft. I remain hands-on through critique culture, prototyping, bug bashing, and refining review processes. Being present in the messy middle is how I guide decisions, raise the quality bar, and shape good design.
